This document pertains to both the Ericsson DH-318 (Cat. No. 170-1201)
and the Ericsson DH-318vi (Cat. No. 170-1221).
PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
Level 1 Programming
Press [RCL] to scroll forward during programming, press [MENU] to scroll
backwards. [CLR] clears last digit entered. Press [END] to exit NAM
programming.
1. Press [9] [2] [3] [8] [8] [5] [MENU]
Display Valid Entry
Program NAM 1-4 or 0 for NegSID 0, 1 or 2
ESN XXX YYYYYYYY Cannot be changed.
Press [RCL].
Mobile ID X 10 digit
A-KEY X Press [RCL].
SID X 5 digits
Alpha Tag X Up to 15 digits
Lock Code 4 digits
Go to Level 2 If you are going to level 2
programming, press [YES].
If you want to go to next
level, press [MENU].
Go to Level 3 If you are going to level 3
programming, press [YES].
If you want to go to next
level, press [MENU].
Go to Level 4 If you are going to level 4
programming, press [YES].
If you want to go to next
level, press [MENU].
**EXIT** [YES] to save, [NO] to cancel
and exit programming.
Level 2 Programming
System X A or B, set by SID, cannot be
changed; press [RCL].
Init Page CH 4 digits
Primary Scan 01-21. Cannot be changed.
Press [RCL].
2ND Page CH 4 digits
2ND Scan 01-21. Cannot be changed.
Press [RCL].
Roam Indicator On/Off. Cannot be changed.
Press [RCL].
EXT Address Any Key to toggle on/off
Local Option Any Key to toggle on/off
ACCOLC 01-15
Group ID 01-15
Go to Level 1 Press [YES] to save and go to
Level 2 or press [NO] to go to
Level 1 without saving.
Level 3 Programming
Edit NAM PSID/RSIDs [YES] to edit PSID/RSIDs or
[RCL] to go to next item.
View TestReg PSID/RSIDs Not currently implemented.
Press [RCL].
View Reg Accept PSID/RSID Not currently implemented.
Press [RCL].
Go to level 1 [YES] to save and go to level
1. [NO] to go to level 1
without saving.
Level 4 Programming
Encoding Numeric keys to toggle between
TBCD and IA5.

Emergency 1 1st (up to 10 digit) emergency

SHORT NAM PROGRAMMING
PREFERRED METHOD: Less chance of Program errors.
To enter the NAM Program
Press [9] [8] [7], then press [MENU] key.
NAM 1 is selected
1. Mobile ID X
YYYYYYYYYY LCD Display X=NAM Y is Min Number
2. Enter: 10 Digit Min Number.
3. Press: [RCL] Scrolls forward through Quick NAM & Temporarily
enters in Memory.
Press [MENU] Scrolls backward through Quick NAM.
4. SID X
YYYYY LCD Display X + NAM Y is SID Number
5. Enter: 5 Digit SID.
6. Press [RCL] Scroll to next step and enter Alpha Tag.
7. ALPHA TAG X
YYYYYYYYYYYY LCD Display X = NAM Y is designed Name
Enter up to 12 characters
8. To continue programming NAM 2, 3, or 4
Press: [RCL] DH-318 has only two NAMS
9. Then, to store and end programming
Press: YES to permanently save changes.
NO will restore all previous values.
Universal Easy Programming (Sheet 1)
ENTRY
Universal Easy Programming is accessed by entering:
[#] (SID) [#] (NAM) [*] (Language) [#] [*] [YES]
SID -- Home SID Value, does not need to be padded.
NAM -- NAM to be programmed [1 - 4] DH-318 has only two NAMS
Language -- 1 is English
2 is French
3 is Spanish
The minimum entry allowed is [#] (SID) [#] [*] [YES] which will change the
SID for NAM 1
The following are examples of possible entries:
[#] (SID) [#] [*] [SEND]
(Enter [#] [6] [9] [#] [*], then [YES])
[#] (SID) [#] (NAM) [#] [*] [SEND]
(Enter [#] [6] [9] [#] [2] [#] [*], then [YES])
[#] (SID) [*] (LANGUAGE) [#] [*] [SEND]
(Enter [#] [6] [9] [*] (English) [#] [*], then [YES])
[#] (SID) [#] NAM [*] LANGUAGE[#] [*] [SEND]

If no NAM is specified, NAM 1 is the default.
If no language is specified, the current language is maintained.
If an illegal value is entered the "INVALID ENTRY!" Message is displayed
for 1 second and the display returns to entry mode.

If less than 10 digits are entered in the Phone Number menu, the "Try
Again" message is displayed for 1 second and the Phone Number menu is
displayed again.
If 10 digits are entered in the Phone Number menu, the "SELECTION STORED!"
message is displayed for two seconds, the changes are saved, and the
display returns to standby mode.
